Nurse Practitioners and Certified Nurse Midwives may apply for prescriptive authority for Schedule II-V controlled substances. 15 contact hours of pharmacology every two years are required.

License renewal is every two years on nurse’s birthday. Advanced practice registered nurses should complete continuing education units (CEUs) according to the renewal requirements of their certifying organization. Education requirements include 75 board-approved continuing education hours per specialty. Advanced practice registered nurses should complete continuing education units (CEUs) according to the renewal requirements of their certifying organization. Renewal fees are $100 per renewal period.

Additional Information
An Active Registered Nurse License from a Compact State Is Required for Application. Upon Licensure, Nurse Practitioners Must Practice under the Supervision of a Physician or Nurse Practitioner for 24 Months. Nurse-Midwife applicants Must Enroll in Either the Continued Competency Assessment (CCA) or Certificate Maintenance Program (CMP).
