Intent to practice as a nurse practitioner/nurse-midwife in an undeserved area of Virginia following graduation. 1 yr per award year.

Nurse Educator Scholarship$40,000 over 2 years
Recipients will be required to give two years of teaching service as a faculty member for every year they receive a scholarship.

Virginia Nursing Licensure Renewal

Advanced practice registered nurse (APRN) and registered nurse (R.N.) licenses renew every two years by the last day of your birth month in even- or odd-numbered years depending on the nurse’s birth year. Nurses born in odd years renew in odd years. Those born in even years renew in even years. APRN licenses must be renewed when the R.N. license is renewed. Renewal reminders are mailed to the most current address on file with the board and may be renewed up to 60 days prior to the expiration date. There are no continuing education requirements for Virginia nurses. Applications for Renewal of nurse practitioners (NPs) can be completed online at the Virginia Department of Health Professions Online Licensing page.
