Maryland Nursing Licensure Renewal

License renewal is required through the Maryland Board of Nursing annually except for those born in odd-numbered years and will renew every two years. Advanced practice registered nurses (APRN), registered nurses (R.N.’s), and licensed practical nurses (LPNs) must be able to provide evidence of 1,000 hours of active practice within a five-year period or completion of a board-certified refresher course. Additionally, any national certifications held must be maintained per the requirements of that certifying body.
